Locally loved and nationally recognized, Chef K.C. Gulbro is an award-winning chef, restaurateur, and hospitality leader known for creating destination dining experiences rooted in craft, community, and connection. A Certified Angus Beef® Brand Ambassador, K.C. embodies a lifelong dedication to culinary excellence, premium ingredients, and uncompromising hospitality.
K.C.'s journey began humbly as a dishwasher, evolving through every operational and culinary role the business demands. This hands-on foundation shaped his deep respect for discipline, teamwork, and consistency, culminating in the opening of FoxFire in 2003. More than two decades later, FoxFire stands as a cornerstone of Illinois fine dining, earning the prestigious "Steakhouse of the Year" award in 2023.
Under K.C.'s leadership, FoxFire has become synonymous with expertly prepared steaks, elevated American cuisine, and a refined yet welcoming dining experience—cultivating a loyal following of locals and travelers alike.
Décor & Event Manager
Mandy Isaacson has been an integral part of the FoxFire team for nearly 13 years, building a career rooted in hospitality, creativity, and exceptional attention to detail. She began her journey at FoxFire as a server, quickly earning a reputation for her natural ability to connect with guests and her instinct for creating warm, welcoming experiences.
Today, she serves as FoxFire's Décor & Event Manager, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of weddings, private events, corporate gatherings, and large-scale celebrations. She works closely with clients to guide each event from initial concept through final execution, ensuring every detail aligns with both the client's vision and FoxFire's elevated standards.
Mandy specializes in custom event design—bespoke centerpieces, ceremony installations, wedding arches, themed décor, and immersive layouts that transform FoxFire's event spaces into memorable settings.
